a new song, "Ennui" đŸș

Happy Friday!

Hope you're doing well -- this week I'm thrilled to share with you a peek at my new one-woman musical show, "Beyond the Frame" -- real and imagined stories based on the artwork of Édouard Manet.

This song, "Ennui," is sung from the perspective of the singer in "The Café-Concert" (1879.) (I was able to call on some personal experience for this one.:))

We're hoping to bring this show to museums as soon as we can, as we build up steam for a fully produced/orchestrated off-Broadway run, and a recording.

If you have any ideas about museum bookings I would be ALL ears, since this is uncharted territory for me! Let me know (just hit reply) and thank you!

Enjoy, and see you next week for a sipping/song pairing once more.

Truly,

Kristen

Hi! Greetings from an erratically springy/wintery NYC! My tastings are part education from my years on the floor in fine dining as a...

Hello! Hope you've been faring well this month -- and that this pairing rounds out your February with a great sip and sounds. I know I loved piecing this together for you. Enjoy! “...and there is a Catskill eagle in some souls that can alike dive down into the blackest gorges, and soar out of them again and become invisible in the sunny spaces. And even if he forever flies within the gorge, that gorge is in the mountains; so that even in his lowest swoop the mountain eagle is still higher...

Hello! These days, and especially in January, it seems like we’re saturated in conversations about the question: “to drink, or not to drink?” The topic is nearly always about alcohol – a broad genus with many varied species from moonshine to Chñteau d’Yquem. It’s like talking about the entirety of foodstuffs as “calories” and failing to distinguish between an apple and a Dorito. Anyhow, I’m here to keep us on the artful side of things – first, because it’s where my talents lie, and also to...
