summer's end, harvests to come

Hi There,

I hope your summer has had its share of relaxation and revelry! I have some "what I did this summer" updates, and also some dates to save:

I'll announce it 'officially' in next week's pairing email, but I'll be performing downtown (NYC) October 16th, November 13th, and December 12th in a new super-intimate venue that I know you'll love. Tickets and details on the way...

Now to our catch up!

BEYOND...

The industry reading of "Beyond the Frame", my one woman musical show about the muses and models of Édouard Manet directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, was a success. We are on our way to our dream off-Broadway run...

Here's a few images of me, pianist/co-arranger Jeb Patton, director GT Upchurch, orchestrator/co-arranger Ted Nash and producer Cassandra Csencsitz enjoying a "still life spritz" after the show.

MYSTERY ALBUM UPDATE

I'm so excited to be getting back in the studio soon to mix the album we recorded in late spring. I'll save sharing the title with you for future posts, but those of you who've been exploring the terrain of wine and song these many years will be very pleased! ;)

Here's me, Ted Nash, producer Michael Leonhart and engineer Steven Sacco (captured by the lens of Dani Case.)

So much behind the scenes work! I can't wait to be in front of the scene and sharing it with you soon.:)

See you next week with some jazz & juice.

Truly,

Kristen

Happy December! In late October, I went back into the studio with Jeb Patton to record "No Room at the Inn" -- a song that came after my producer on the next album, Michael Leonhart, suggested I might put something out for the season. Though I have a holiday album with Ted Nash that covers plenty of sentiments from the humbug to hallelujah, there was a flavor I felt this year needed. I wrote, recorded and released this song with more speed than anything in recent memory (to which you who have...

I'll start at the beginning. In 2019 while in LA for a gig, I found my plans cancelled (actually, I chose to go someplace that was closed — sadly not unusual) so I thought to make the best of it by making my first visit to the Getty Museum. the one that started it all The featured exhibit was called “Modern Beauty” showing the later paintings of Édouard Manet, who I didn’t have any particular connection to at the time, little knowing this encounter would be one that would shape my artistic...

Hi and Happy Fall, It's pairing time! A quick note on shows before that though: although Santa Barbara on the 7th is sold out, however we still have room in NYC for Song Salon on 11/12. Hope you'll come and enjoy wine and tunes with me and Sebastian Noelle on guitar in this special space. Tickets can be found here. Allons-y! Juice It takes a certain intensity, commitment and sense of adventure to explore winemaking regions of the world, found your own winery, and vinify obscure grapes from...
