Five hours left to support "Beyond the Frame" ⏳!

Hello and Happy New Year!

A quick note to you first thing in 2026 to say hello, and a last call: we are now 5 hours (!) away from the end of the "Beyond the Frame" recording fundraiser -- if supporting new art and music happens to be on your '26 resolution list, I'd love to have you as part of a tight circle of patrons of the project.

It's still tax deductible, and the benefits at various tiers are a lot of fun (Home concerts! Gallery tours! Performances!)

You'll find the fundraiser here -- for a few hours more.

Pilgrimage!

I just came back from an art voyage to see "Manet & Morisot" at San Francisco's Legion of Honor museum, which was inspiring on so many levels, especially in my admiration for the curator Emily Beeny's incredible work on the exhibit. I came, I saw, I cried -- if you happen to be anywhere near this place and share anywhere near my passion for this art, I encourage you to go before it closes in March!

Press!

My song "No Room at the Inn" is mentioned by Tessa Souter in the current issue of the New York City Jazz Record. I'm especially touched since Tessa is a wonderful singer, and I didn't expect any press since it was such a last minute addition to the holiday season. She writes:

"In more piano-vocal magic, jazz singer and songwriter Kristen Lee Sergeant's beautiful single,"No Room at the Inn" manages to political, clever and moving all at once, gorgeously accompanied by her simpatico pianist Jeb Patton."

Her whole column can be found here.

Hello! Hope your end-of-year is treating you well. I'm happy to bring you two great ways to see through the transition! Pairing for you always makes me listen and taste better, so thank you for this past year of Jazz & Juice. And thank you for those of you who are helping to make 2026 a watershed year for the "Beyond the Frame" project (more on that at the end.) Juice Though I'm a firm believer that Champagne is for all days, not just holidays, I'll admit it's particularly perfect for New...

Hello! The holidays have hastened to us -- and even though I've been singing songs of the season (one that's brand new and some not) for what feels like months, I'm still somehow surprised that we're here! I hope you find yourself with a slackening workload and some time, and a glass or two, to fill in the coming week. I think you'll find this pairing perfectly suited to the moment. Juice Even after years of reminding anyone within earshot that not all rieslings are sweet (or too sweet for...

Happy December! In late October, I went back into the studio with Jeb Patton to record "No Room at the Inn" -- a song that came after my producer on the next album, Michael Leonhart, suggested I might put something out for the season. Though I have a holiday album with Ted Nash that covers plenty of sentiments from the humbug to hallelujah, there was a flavor I felt this year needed. I wrote, recorded and released this song with more speed than anything in recent memory (to which you who have...
